Initial Online Consultation FAQs
What is covered in an initial online consultation?
We will have a general discussion about the Irish tax issues relevant to you (and your family, where necessary) arising from any of the following:
- Expansion of your business
- Future exit from your business
- Investments you wish to make
- Asset/investment disposals
- Moving to Ireland, or leaving Ireland
- Lifetime gifts
- Planning for the division of your estate
- Any other Irish tax issues you wish to discuss
What is not covered in an initial online consultation?
This consultation is designed to provide you with a general understanding of the tax issues to be considered and to address key concerns that you may have. An hour-long consultation will never be sufficient to cover an exhaustive analysis of every possible tax scenario for a potential transaction. A tailored comprehensive plan for estate planning, family investments or expansion/exit from a business would also require significantly more time.
Why do you list 2 fees for each of the types of services you list, e.g. Wealth Builder, Your Big Picture Plan, etc.?
It’s an obvious statement but every client is different. You may need confirmation of 2/3 tax points and no more, or you may need advice on a number of taxes that all apply to the same transaction, or you may need advice and support in relation to different scenarios or plans that will extend over a period of years.
Our process is designed in such a way that you can get an understanding of what is involved from a tax perspective (via an initial online consultation), without triggering significant upfront fees. Once we understand what is required, we can set out a fee quotation that is specifically tailored to you.
What happens if tax laws change after my initial online consultation?
Tax laws and the Revenue Commissioners’ practice change frequently. We can advise you on the relevant rules that apply at the time of the initial online consultation, but TAX FOR HUMANS have no obligation to update you on any subsequent changes to these rules.
If you decide not to proceed with a decision or transaction at the time of consultation but do so at a later date, we recommend that you confirm our advice with us before proceeding.
See Terms & Conditions for further information.
What happens if I provide incorrect or incomplete information during the initial online consultation?
We advise you on the basis of the information you provide to us and presume that it is correct. Minor changes in the underlying information may have a significant impact on the appropriate tax advice for you. This means that, if incorrect or incomplete information is provided, TAX FOR HUMANS cannot be held responsible for any losses, additional tax liabilities, interest or penalties that may apply as a result of relying on our advice.
